EVENTS OF PFR - 2006

11 Feb 2006 (Saturday)
Band Concert. A Naval Band Concert would be held on the occasion and is expected to be witnessed by a large number of dignitaries. 

Illumination of Ships.   The ships of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard will be anchored off the RK Beach, Visakhapatnam.  They will be illuminated by garlands of lights giving the silhouette.

 
Command Reception/Presidential Banquet. On the occasion of Review of Naval Fleet by the President, a Presidential Banquet would be hosted by the Command in ENC Officers’ Mess.

Review of the Fleet.  Review of the Fleet by His Excellency Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the President of India at Anchorage off RK Beach, Visakhapatnam

Fly Past.  The review would be followed by fly past of various aircraft of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
Release of Commemorative Stamp and Special Publication.  The President would release a First Day Cover and Commemorative Stamp on this special occasion.  A Special Publication would also be releaed on this occasion.  
Op Display. An Operations Display by Ships, submarines and aircraft has been planned at RK Beach, which would be witnessed by the President, Defence Minister, Governors/Chief Ministers of States, Ministers of Central/State Government and high-ranking officials from defence, civil administration and PSUs. In addition hundreds of thousands of local population also would witness the event.

Sunset Ceremony.  The Sunset Ceremony includes Band Display/Beating Retreat and Ceremonial Sunset.  This would be followed by Firepower Demonstration and Illumination of ships
Fireworks Display.  A colourful Fireworks Display by the ships at sea will follow to bring a befitting finale to the occasion.

Laser Display.  A Colourful Laser display would follow the Fireworks Display by the ships.
A Review reception will be held on the lawns of Naval Officers' Institute (Visakhapatnam)
